*** Book now: Reformer Pilates classes commence on 6 May ***
Reformer Pilates is a fun and challenging form of exercise. The reformer offers all the benefits of Pilates, including increasing strength, flexibility, co-ordination and balance. It is low impact and modifiable, making it the perfect workout for everyone. It can also be used as a rehabilitation tool, as Joseph Pilates initially designed it for during World War I.
The reformer is an extremely versatile piece of equipment. It might look scary, but once you give it ago you will realise just how fun it is. The reformer is shaped like a bed – it moves within a frame and is loaded with springs. These springs are used to change the difficulty of each exercise by both challenging and assisting you through all of the movements in a class. Not only are there springs, there are also straps for your hands and feet, a box to sit or lay on, as well as a jump board to add an extra challenge. There are thousands of reformer exercises, so have no fear that any class you attend will be the same as the last.
Our classes are run by Pilates instructors with extensive Pilates training. Each class is designed to challenge you to work to the best of your ability, while incorporating all the Pilates principles. We focus our classes around building a strong foundation; we teach alignment and control, balance and stability, postural awareness, core strength, and functional mobility, all while building strength, and a mental focus help your body work at its best.
Pilates Reformer is for everyone, at any level. So why not come and give it a go?
If group classes are not for you, or if you feel you need something more personal, our instructors are available for private and semi-private sessions as well.
